Living In Balance: Braiding Knowledges with Corey Beaver

1 min read

Climate change is usually talked about through numbers, emissions and policy. But what happens when we start talking about how it feels?

In this episode of the Overheard Podcast, recorded live in Banff, we sit down with Cory Beaver immediately following the Braiding Knowledges workshop hosted by the Biosphere Institute to explore the connection between climate change, mental health and our relationship with the land.

Together, we unpack climate anxiety, grief, responsibility, Indigenous knowledge and the role community plays in carrying challenges that are simply too big for one person to hold alone. We also explore what Îyârhe Nakoda teachings can offer to a conversation that is often dominated by Western perspectives, and why caring for the land begins with changing the way we relate to it.

This is the first of eight episodes we’re proud to produce in partnership with @BiosphereInstitute, made possible through the support of the Town of Banff. Over the coming months we’ll be exploring local stories, ideas and people working toward a more resilient future for the Bow Valley.

If you enjoy conversations like this, don’t forget to like, subscribe and share the episode. It helps us continue bringing important local stories to a wider audience.

See you next Tuesday!!
